Hey, beginner here too (7 months into the sport). Each workout, interval, and ride is 1 step closer to being your best. Commit to the plan and the workouts and they will be much easier to accomplish. And one of the most important things, IMO, get your mind set on your goal of becoming stronger and faster. Anything that will keep you semi engaged to help pass the time. Lastly, I would recommend you start building up some entertaining videos on your youtube playlists, amazon, netflix, etc. And maybe you'll find out TR isnt for you but at least then you'll have some experience with structured training that you can translate to the world either real or virtual. Once you get the gist of it you can easily enough start building your own workouts in zwift. Get a feel for what a week and 3 weeks of training is like and of course recovery days/weeks. I'd say give TR a go for awhile and become acquainted with structured training. And even as important, nutrition but that's another topic of discussion. It's when you get to the higher w/kg that structure and consistency becomes key. TR workouts will make you stronger and faster if you stick to the plan.īeing that you're new, you'll see gains from doing workouts on both platforms. Zwift workouts are mostly just meant to keep you from getting too bored. IE doing recovery rides on a flattish zwift course.Īs far as workouts go, TR takes the award for that. It's also good to be able to just ride and have a varying cadence once in awhile. They're both fun ways to change up the monotony of TR workouts. Zwift is great for racing and group rides.
